Authenticity
I spend most days giving my gifts of touch and wisdom, Every once in awhile one of my clients gives back to me.
We have had about five sessions now and each time he comes in, he gives me permission to use my intuition and do what I feel.
Since I acquired this client from a deep tissue therapist, I was feeling inclined to do that type of work. Give him what he was used to from the previous person. As we chatted in the beginning of our session. He mentioned this to me that each time he asked for me to do my own session. Every one has felt the same. Nothing spectacular, always good.
I sat in front of him, completely exposed. It was true! I had to admit it. Feeling bound by the constraints of someone else's practice, I felt as though I had to emulate their work , or possibly lose a client.
The complete opposite is true. IN doing my own work, i gain the authenticity that is mine. That I have developed year after year. To do just that!, call a piece of work my own. To know without a doubt that I have taken someone to the deepest layers of their healing body. Making an impact in their being and helping to heal and move forward in their lives.
I can't live in the box of someone's shadow. We all must shine, with authenticity !! Show the world what we have to offer, instead of just fitting it.
Sometimes it the client who has something to offer me...with deepest gratitude, I am humbled.
